Companion Mods

These mods are distributed in the same archive as the main mod. They are optional, but you should definitely pick one of the camera mods to enable the pilot and FO avatars.

Camera packages

charliebravo-z-cameras-twin-otter-classic, charliebravo-y-cameras-twin-otter-flat and charliebravo-y-cameras-twin-otter-custom each replace the cockpit camera views. Pick one:

  • classic is the stock Aerosoft set.

  • flat (by Hobanagerik) levels out the close pilot view and the three captain's instrument views instead of tilting them down at the panel.

  • custom is based on Archer374's "Better Cameras" mod (work in progress).

One of them has to be installed, or the pilot and copilot avatars don't show up.

Prop blur mod (CCM)

z_aerosoft-twin-otter-propblur_mod mitigates the "wagon wheel effect" by making the blurred prop phases more transparent, only for the close-up LOD, so screenshots taken from the outside at some distance still get the cinematic look.

Sound mod for Turbine Duke owners

charliebravo-soundmod-twin-otter-turbineduke replaces the default engine sounds and a few other effects with much better versions from the Black Square Turbine Duke. It is highly recommended.

You need to own the Turbine Duke and have it installed somewhere on your system. We don't distribute any part of the soundbank. If you don't own the Turbine Duke, it's definitely worth getting on its own merits. Being able to reuse its sounds in the Twotter is just a boon.

To activate the mod, you must run the install script in its folder and point it at your Turbine Duke folder. It will copy the soundbank and modify it in order to prevent collisions with the actual Turbine Duke.

Warning

Until the (separate) install script has been executed, this mod, too, will be inactive.
